KOMODO February 2012
A very famous island: Komodo.
I Flew Garuda airlines from Bali to Labaun Bajo (Flores Island), in the airport there was a local person waiting for us Mr. Condo.
I never booked a live aboard so I was scared about paid in advance by credit card, after a long e-mail negotiation I got a deal and I paid cash on the boat.
I was travelling without any gear only my desire to dive and to discover the underwater life.
Mr. Condo did not have a dive centre, to try the bcd, wetsuit, fins…he came to my hotel and for me it was strange, at the beginning I was very nervous.
The day after he came to pick me up and he took me to the pier where I saw the boat.
Amazing Indonesian´s wood boat, so good so nice.
On the boat we were four Sweden, two Germans, my girlfriend and me, plus the crew (two guides, the chef and three sailors)
The first think I did on the boat it was to pay Mr.Condo I apologized and we became friends.
The live aboard was four days / three nights.
I did eight dives around Komodo and Rinca Islands:
pulau sarang, tatawa, channel, crystal rock, taka took took, taka maka sar, batubolong, pulau kambing.
Diving in this area is not for beginners, there are very strong currents the sea can take you very deep and fast, you have to know how to manage it.
For me it was funny for some Sweden not so much.
Every single entry was a “negative entry” and under the water the current was strong but the visibility was very good and I saw a lot of kinds of fishes:
So many sharks (white tips), turtles, giant groupers, eagles ray (very big), tunas, barracudas, morays, napoleon fish (very big), spanish mackrella, giant trevelly, nudibranch, shrimps, scorpion fish, lion fish, trigger fish, pipe fish, punp fish, crubs, sea cocumbers and a fantastic, spectacular spanish dancer (by night).
It was unbelievableeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee divingggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
I loved it.
The food was so tasty and delicious, the people lovely and friendly.
My first live aboard experience was Ten.
