Gili Islands are an archipelago of three small islands: gili trawangan, gili meno y gili air (my favorite) just off northwest coast of Lombok.
To go there I flew to Bali, from Kuta (or Dempasar) by car (one hour).
I want to padangbai port (southeast Bali) and with a fast boat I arrived to a fantastic Gili Air (the smallest of the three islands).
There is not motorized transport on the island.
Short distances are covered on foot, by bike or by a small horse-drawn carriage.
The beach is nice, the resort was lovely and the place to dive is beautiful, perfect for beginners.
Blue marlin (www.bluemarlindive.com) was a very nice dive resort; the manager Christine was very helpful and kind with us, I really recommend it.
Shark point, Meno wreck, Hans, Cookys, and Simon are the dive site; every single one was so nice so funny and amazing. I enjoyed a lot.

scorpion fish,
lion fish,
cow fish,
angel fish,
founded,
king kong crab (very nice)
pygmy sea horse (my first one, so good).
The bottom is a mix of corals, rocks, sand and the max depth was 28.4 mts.
The sea is calm, the water is hot and clear, very good visibility.
