Sabang beach oriental mindoro January 2014.
The beach is not good and the village is very noicy during the night, so many discos and pub but you can find so many nice dive sites.
To get there you have the option by bus from Manila or via banca from Batangas (it is in the south at 2,30 hrs by road from manila) land at Sabang beach frequently or at the port of Puerto Galera. White beach and balatero are others destination close enough to Sabang Beach to be a reasonable alternative if you don't want to wait for the next direct ferry. Just take a jeepney, trike, or motorcycle to Sabang. By jeepney is very funny, I took it ones and I have been spending time talking with the local people.
I booked accomodation and diving with Capt'n Gregg's and I could not choose better. Nice room and a very good dive center. I was travelling with my own gear but the water was a little bit chilly for me so I put on an extra wet suit (my one is 2.5 mm)
Diving in Sabang is very nice, from the beach with the dinghy the farest dive site is at 10 min.
I dived mostly of the time only with a dive master, he was very good.
I saw shellfish electric, nudibranch moonfish, clownfish, and frog fish (I like frogfish so much) I was in a a alma jane wreck just in front of the beach and I saw two big frogfish, I really enjoy them.
Sabang point is another nice dive site you can meet peacock mantis shrimp, spider crab, lobster, shrimps very tine and different nudi branch.
Canyon is nice too, that day the corrent was strong but we enjoyed looking a very big and long snake.
In capt´n Gregg´s you cannot miss a fantastic one and only Chuck's gin juice.
